The win32-service library provides a Ruby interface to services on MS Windows. You can create new services, or control, configure and inspect existing services. In addition, you can create a pure Ruby service by using the Daemon class that is included as part of the library.

The win32-security library provides an interface for dealing with security related aspects of MS Windows, such as SID's, ACL's and ACE's.

The win32-file library adds several methods to the core File class which are specific to MS Windows, such as the ability to set and retrieve file attributes. In addition, several core methods have been redefined in order to work properly on MS Windows, such as File.blksize. See the README file for more details.

The win32-file-security library adds security related methods to the core File class for MS Windows. This includes the ability to get or set permissions, as well as encrypt or decrypt files.

The win32-file-stat library provides a custom File::Stat class specifically tailored for MS Windows. Examples include the ability to retrieve file attributes (hidden, archive, etc) as well as the redefinition of certain core methods that aren't implemented at all, such as File.blksize.
