This package simplifies sending emails outside of the Rails environment. It is a wrapper around the ActionMailer package. Support for smtp over tls is included if you are using Ruby 1.8.7 or above. The API provided is very bare, but can be easily extended. The email configuration is provided through a user-specified configuration file (identical to the ActionMailer configuration in environment.rb in Rails except for the added tls option). This package is most useful in the situation that a user has a number of scripts (outside of the Rails environment) that all send very basic emails (to, from, body, subject).

Thermostat.rb is an attempt to build an easy to use ruby api around the web services provided by the Proliphix line of network thermostats. Their API is documented at http://www.proliphix.com/Documentation.aspx. The code is tested on the NT20e unit, which is what I own (the NT10e is the same hardware, just can't handle remote sensors). It should react that same across all their network accessible units.

Typed accessors creates a set of accessors with a predefined typed. Often when dealing with webservices all the data comes back as strings, but you really want to be working with these things as numbers or dates. Manually converting them is duplication, and can be error prone.

Based on a blog post by Rowan Thorpe (http://rowanthorpe.wordpress.com/2012/10/15/unmangle-utf-8-from-double-encoded-utf-8-my-shell-script-and-batch-script-tweaks/), forcefully replaces broken UTF-8 encoded as pairs of Latin-1 characters. Includes a verbatim copy of Rowan's sed script.

This contains common ruby extensions mostly taken from Rails, as well as various command-line utilities.
