TKXXS provides a very simple and very easy to use GUI (graphical user interface) for Ruby; It gives you a persistent output window and popping up (modal) dialogs for input; For a screenshot, see: <tt>https://github.com/Axel2/tkxxs/blob/master/images/screenshot.png</tt>; I tested it on Windows, only; Got user report, that it works on Ubuntu, too.
TKXXS shall:
* improve the usability of little applications, which otherwise would use a command line interface (CLI); for example by a GUI-file chooser
* give a simple GUI front-end for apps, which take parameters on the command line. (stdout can easily be redirected to the OutputWindow.)
* take only little more effort and coding time over programming a CLI;
* be able to easily upgrade existing CLI-applications;
* be comfortable in use (e.g. provide incremental search, tool-tip-help, ...);
* be easy to install.
Drawbacks:
* I'v tested it only on Windows, but got user report, that it works on Ubuntu, too.l
* For sure some more drawbacks which I'm not aware of now.
TKXXS uses TK (easy to install).

youtube-g is a pure Ruby client for the YouTube GData API. It provides an easy way to access the latest YouTube video search results from your own programs. In comparison with the earlier Youtube search interfaces, this new API and library offers much-improved flexibility around executing complex search queries to obtain well-targeted video search results. More detail on the underlying source Google-provided API is available at: http://code.google.com/apis/youtube/overview.html

This is a ruby implementation of the TokBox API. Tokbox is a free video calling / video mailing platform (see http://www.tokbox.com). All API methods specified in the Tokbox Developer API wiki (http://developers.tokbox.com/index.php/API) are implemented but not all objects yet. So you may have to dig into the hash returned by the call (XML converted to a Ruby hash). For the moment, this gem currently specifically serves our needs for the implementation of video conversations and video mails on iStockCV (www.istockcv.com), an online recruitment network which we are developing. Your needs may vary so feel free to contact me (nj@belighted.com).

A Ruby library that wraps the Viapost SOAP API, providing an easy way of sending post (you know, real letter box post) from your applications. The author, Tom Taylor, has no affiliation with Viapost other than thinking it's a useful service.
