The win32-changenotify library provides an interface for monitoring changes in files or diretories on the MS Windows filesystem. It not only tells you when a change occurs, but the nature of the change as well.

The win32-nio library implements certain IO methods using native Windows function calls rather than using the POSIX compatibility layer that MRI typically uses. In addition, some methods provide additional event handling capability.
