ExportData
This gem exports model data into different formats, such as CSV. To achieve so, it uses an export model that handles how the data will be shown
Installation
gem 'export_data'
Then, run bundle install
to install the gem.
Usage
Exporting Data to CSV
require 'data_export_gem'
# Prepare data
data = [
{ id: 1, name: 'John', age: 30 },
{ id: 2, name: 'Alice', age: 25 }
]
# Create an instance of the exporter
exporter = DataExportGem::Exporter.new
# Export data to a CSV file
exporter.export_to_csv(data, 'output.csv')
Exporting Data to XLSX
require 'data_export_gem'
# Prepare data
data = [
{ id: 1, name: 'John', age: 30 },
{ id: 2, name: 'Alice', age: 25 }
]

Development
After checking out the repo, run bin/setup
to install dependencies. Then, run rake spec
to run the tests. You can also run bin/console
for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.
To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install
. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb
, and then run bundle exec rake release
, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and the created tag, and push the .gem
file to rubygems.org.
