Jrb::Hdfs
Jrb::Hdfs is a self-contained native HDFS client which only supports Jruby.
Installation
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
gem 'jrb-hdfs'
And then execute:
$ bundle
Or install it yourself as:
$ gem install jrb-hdfs
Base Usage
require 'jrb/hdfs'
# To create hdfs client, get hadoop config file from your hadoop cluster
client = Jrb::Hdfs::Client.new("hdfs://localhost", "#{ENV['HADOOP_HOME']}/etc/hadoop/")
# list an hdfs entry
client.list('/')
# copy hdfs file to local
client.copy_to_local(src, dst)
# check hdfs file exists
client.exists?(path)
# remove file in hdfs
client.rm(path)
# put file into hdfs
client.put(src, dst)
# mkdir in hdfs
client.mkdir(path) # equals to client.mkdir_p(path)
For Kerberos Authentication
client = Jrb::Hdfs::Client.new(

Development
After checking out the repo, run bin/setup
to install dependencies. Then, run rake test
to run the tests. You can also run bin/console
for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.
To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install
. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb
, and then run bundle exec rake release
, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem
file to rubygems.org.
