PoweredWunderground

This gem is based on wnadeau wunderlust gem: https://github.com/wnadeau/wunderground. Since I had different needs for the API (tts friendly forecast descriptions) that would change the scope of the wunderlust gem. I decided to create this one.

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'powered_wunderground'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install powered_wunderground

Usage

by coords

pw = PoweredWunderground.new(api_key: api_key, language: 'en')
resp = pw.coord(41.16, -8.6)

resp.to_s                       # "Partly cloudy. Low 16C."
resp.powered_output             # {text: "Partly cloudy. Low 16C.", city: "Porto", country: "PT", language_code: 'pt'}

by city

pw = PoweredWunderground.new(api_key: api_key, language: 'en')
resp = pw.city('PT', 'Porto')

resp.to_s                       # "Partly cloudy. Low 16C."
resp.powered_output             # {text: "Partly cloudy. Low 16C.", city: "Porto", country: "PT", language_code: 'pt'}

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release to create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
