Wotd
This gem provides a CLI to view a word of the day along with definition and other information.
Wotd (Word of the Day) will pull the word of the day from Merriam-Webster's website. User will be shown the daily word and definition. User has the option to view more info pertaining to the daily word. If user selects Y for yes, an example of the word used in a sentence and a fact will be shown. Otherwise user can view word again or exit the program.
Installation
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
gem 'wotd'
And then execute:
$ bundle
Or install it yourself as:
$ gem install wotd
Usage
Type the following command
$ wotd
Then follow the prompts.
Development
After checking out the repo, run bin/setup
to install dependencies. Then, run rake spec
to run the tests. You can also run bin/console
for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.
To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install
. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb
, and then run bundle exec rake release
, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem
file to rubygems.org.
